XII: the Hanged Man is an exploration of the failure of our medical systems to get help to those who need it. Isolated in his bedroom, a young man finds the strength to reach out for help - only to be left waiting and wondering whether he’ll get the support he needs.
Trying to find solace in alternative practices, he turns to tarot. The piece explores how spirituality, while invaluable when wielded correctly, can also be corrupted by our demons, driving us deeper into the darkness
Being set across an ambiguous timeframe, we don’t know for how long our protagonist struggles: are these the events of a single day or many months? Time is distorted, dreams mix with waking life; a nightmare from which he is convinced there is only one escape...
